Aadi slips on approved cancer drug 36%

With its lead asset FYARRO (nab-Sirolimus) already approved to treat the rare cancer perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm (PEComa), Aadi Bioscience, Inc. (NASDAQ:AADI) sought to expand the treatment to more common cancers. The company said it would release phase II nab-Sirolimus data in the spring of 2023 in patients with malignant solid tumors who carry pathogenic TSC1 and TSC2 inactivating gene alterations. Patients with the TSC1 and TSC2 alterations responded positively in the PEComa trials.

The exit of the founder/CEO, combined with more restructuring within the company, resulted in slow progress in the phase II trial. By June 2023, Aadi only reported acceptable efficacy and safety of nab-sirolimus among solid tumor patients in the trial. No substantive efficacy data was reported as Aadi continued its search for new management. Aadi’s stock traded above $8.00 per share on June 5, 2023, when SanaCurrents discontinued coverage, reflecting a decline of 36% from January 2023.
